Big Names: Warner Joins NFL Network As NFL Analyst

Recent news involving sports media personalities, including NBC News anchor Brian Williams contributing to Thursday’s NFL Kickoff 2010, FOX NFL analyst Jimmy Johnson calling a game via satellite and Kurt Warner getting a new TV role.

  • Brian Williams: In advance of the Saints hosting the NFL season opener, the NBC News anchor will host Thursday’s edition of NBC Nightly News from New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward. Later Thursday, a Williams report on the five year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina will be featured during NBC’s NFL Kickoff 2010 pregame telecast. (Fang’s Bites 1, 2)
  • Jimmy Johnson: The FOX NFL Sunday analyst will join Sam Rosen and Tim Ryan via satellite for Sunday’s 49ers/Seahawks game. FOX plans to have studio analysts “drop-in” on games throughout the season. (Fang’s Bites, USA Today)
  • Kurt Warner: The former NFL QB has joined NFL Network as a studio analyst for NFL Total Access and a contributor for other unspecified programming. Warner, who will also work as a game analyst for FOX this season, previously called Arena Football League games for NFL Network. (Fang’s Bites)
