More College Football Ratings: Florida Opener Leads ESPN Saturday

Ratings for several college football games on ESPN/ESPN2 during the opening weekend of the season, including the openers for Florida, Texas and TCU and Sunday’s Tulsa/ECU thriller.

  • ESPN drew a 2.7 overnight for Miami (OH)/Florida on Saturday afternoon, the network’s highest college football overnight of the day. The game edged TCU/Oregon State on Saturday night, which drew a 2.6 overnight. Elsewhere on Saturday, Texas/Rice drew a 1.8 overnight.
  • Monday’s Navy/Maryland game led ESPN’s non-Saturday slate with a 2.1 overnight. On Sunday, SMU/Texas Tech earned a 1.4 overnight and Southern/Delaware State drew a 0.8. The Tulsa/ECU thriller on ESPN2 brought up the rear with a 0.7.
  • Speaking of ESPN2, the network drew a 0.7 overnight for both Western Michigan/Michigan State Saturday afternoon and Cincinnati/Fresno State on Saturday night. The network’s reverse mirror coverage of ABC’s regional action drew a 0.6 overnight.
