A battle of Texas teams lifted FOX to massive numbers for last Sunday’s NFL singleheader.
NFL action featuring Cowboys/Texans drew a 12.8 final rating and 22.237 million viewers on FOX Sunday afternoon, up 8% in ratings and 15% in viewership from last year (ATL/NE*: 11.9, 19.330 mil) and up 47% and 59%, respectively, from 2008 (NO/DEN*: 8.7, 13.983 mil).
Sunday’s telecast drew a higher rating and more viewers than every singleheader window last season.
Additionally, the telecast topped NBC’s Sunday Night Football (11.3, 18.147 mil), the first time since Week 11 last year that the singleheader has outdrawn SNF.
Only the national window on CBS (14.0, 23.134 mil) drew better numbers than Sunday’s singleheader.
