Solid Rise In Overnights For Bears/Giants

Overnight ratings increased by double-digits for the Giants’ Sunday night win over the Bears.

NBC earned a 14.2 overnight rating for Bears/Giants Sunday night, up 19% from Chargers/Steelers in Week 4 last year (11.9) and up 15% from Eagles/Bears in Week 4 two years ago (12.3).

The 14.2 overnight is the highest for a primetime NFL game in the month of October since 2000, but the second-lowest of the season on NBC (five games).

For the fourth straight week, Sunday Night Football trailed the 4:15 PM national window. SNF has not topped the national window in the overnights since Week 9 last season (Nov. 8).

Chicago was the top market for Sunday’s game, with a 39.7 rating. Milwaukee (21.9), Las Vegas (20.6), New Orleans (18.5) and West Palm Beach, FL (16.3) rounded out the top five. New York (15.4) ranked 12th.
