More Ratings: Record Rating For Celtics on CSN NE


Recent sports TV ratings, including declines for college football on ESPN, record ratings for the Celtics on CSN New England, and ratings for the UFL on Versus.

  • Thursday’s UCLA/Washington game earned a 1.4 U.S. rating and 2.053 million viewers on ESPN, down 7% in ratings and 5% in viewership from last year (COL/OK ST: 1.5, 2.151 mil), and down 22% and 24%, respectively, from 2008 (VT/MIA: 1.8, 2.692 mil). (
  • Wednesday’s Wizards/Celtics game drew a 7.49 rating on Comcast SportsNet New England in Boston, the highest rating ever for a regular season Celtics game on the network. The previous record was 7.45, set by a 2008 Bulls/Celtics game. So far this season, Celtics telecasts are averaging a 5.4 rating on CSN NE, up 27% from last year, and not too far behind the Red Sox’ full season average of 5.9 on NSEN. (
  • Versus drew a 0.1 U.S. rating and 203,000 viewers for last Saturday’s Nighthawks/Mountain Lions UFL game. The game, which began at 11 PM ET, had a lead-in from the most-viewed college football game ever on Versus (ORE/CAL: 1.1, 1.909 mil). (
