The penultimate edition of ABC’s Saturday Night Football hit a season-high over Thanksgiving weekend.
Regional college football action featuring Oklahoma/Oklahoma State in 54% of TV markets earned a 4.9 final rating and 8.234 million viewers on ABC Saturday night, up 9% in ratings and 15% in viewership from last year (ND/STAN*: 4.5, 7.184 mil), but down 26% and 23%, respectively, from 2008 (TTU/OU*: 6.6, 10.733 mil).
This marks the season’s highest rated, most-viewed edition of Saturday Night Football. The previous highs were a 4.7 rating (twice) and 7.645 million viewers (October 30).
Final ratings and viewership for the rest of last weekend’s college football action on broadcast (ABC, CBS and NBC) were not immediately available.
Saturday Night Football was easily the top program of Saturday night on broadcast, topping all competition in ratings, viewership and adults 18-49.
