The first loss in over two years for the Connecticut women’s basketball program set a record in the overnights for ESPN2.
Connecticut’s 71-59 loss to Stanford earned a 1.5 overnight rating on ESPN2 Thursday night, the highest overnight ever for a regular season women’s college basketball game on the network.
The previous high was a 1.4 for Connecticut/Duke in February 2003.
Overnight ratings peaked at a 3.1 during the final fifteen minutes of Thursday’s game, which marked the end of Connecticut’s 90-game winning streak.
The streak was the longest ever for a Division I men’s or women’s college basketball program.
