More Ratings: Capitals Ratings Up 68% Since 24/7 Premiere

Recent sports TV ratings news, including the NBA on NBA TV, men’s and women’s college basketball on ESPN, and Capitals ratings on CSN Mid-Atlantic.

  • Saturday’s Heat/Bulls game earned a 0.1 U.S. rating and 221,000 viewers on NBA TV, below the network’s season average of 0.2 and 233,000. The game was outdrawn by both taped PBA Bowling (0.2, 246,000) and Poker Stars coverage (0.2, 321,000) on ESPN2. Of course, NBA TV is in about 40 million fewer homes than ESPN2. (pifeedback.com)
  • ESPN drew a 0.3 U.S. rating and 415,000 viewers for Saturday night’s Vanderbilt/Tennessee women’s college basketball game. Earlier in the day, a men’s college basketball game between the same teams drew a 0.9 and 1.259 million, also on ESPN. ESPN’s College Gameday, which aired from the site of the two games, earned a 0.5 and 602,000 viewers Saturday morning. (pifeedback.com)
  • Since the December 15 premiere of HBO’s 24/7: Penguins/Capitals series, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic has averaged a 2.1 rating for Capitals games in the Washington, D.C., market (12 telecasts), up 68% from the same period last year (1.25).
