The Celtics are not the only NBA team lighting up the ratings on a Comcast RSN, as the Bulls are on a record pace of their own.
Bulls games averaged a 4.1 rating on Comcast SportsNet Chicago through 29 telecasts, up 64% from the same point last year (2.5), and the network’s highest average ever through the All-Star Break.
The ten highest rated regular season games ever on CSN Chicago (dates back to 2004) have taken place this season alone, led by a 5.7 for Sixers/Bulls in December.
Six games have topped a 5.0 rating, a mark that no regular season game on the network had ever surpassed prior to this season. Overall, 26 of the 29 telecasts have topped a 3.0 rating, compared to just 12 such telecasts all of last season (42 telecasts).
As mentioned earlier, the Bulls are not the only hot NBA team on a CSN network. The Celtics are averaging a 4.7 on CSN New England, up 42% from last year, and on pace for the network’s highest average ever.
