The Ratings Game: TruTV Has Most-Viewed Week in Primetime in Several Key Demos

Recent sports TV ratings news, including tennis’ BNP Paribas Open on ABC, record numbers for NCAA Tournament-fueled TruTV, and generally flat numbers for NASCAR’s Nationwide Series on ESPN.

  • ABC drew a 1.3 overnight rating for the Men’s and Women’s Finals of the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament Sunday afternoon. Saturday’s action, featuring the Men’s Semifinals, earned a 0.9 overnight. (ESPN)
  • Airing coverage of the NCAA Tournament for the first time, TruTV had its most-viewed week ever in primetime among adults 18-34, men 18-49 and men 18-49 last week. On Sunday, the network had its single most-viewed night ever in the three aforementioned demographics, as well as its best Sunday night ever among adults 18-49. (Turner)
