Shifted from Sunday afternoon to Saturday night, NASCAR’s Samsung Mobile 500 hit a record low in the metered markets, but still managed to top last year’s comparable race.
FOX earned a 3.7 overnight rating for Saturday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Samsung Mobile 500 from Texas, up 9% from last year’s comparable race (Phoenix: 3.4), and up 12% from the comparable race in 2009 (Phoenix: 3.3).
Last year’s spring Texas race was rained out. Compared to the 2009 race, Saturday’s telecast was down 12% from a 4.2 overnight.
Overall, this marks the lowest overnight rating ever for NASCAR’s spring Texas race (excludes rained out races). The previous low was the 4.2 for the aforementioned 2009 race.
