Overnights Down For NASCAR From Martinsville

For the second time this season, overnight ratings for NASCAR on FOX dipped below a 4.0.

Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500 from Martinsville earned a 3.9 overnight rating on FOX, down 5% from 2009 (4.1), and down 20% from 2008 (4.9).

Last year’s race was postponed to Monday afternoon due to rain.

This marks the lowest overnight for NASCAR’s spring Martinsville race since at least 2002 (overnights prior to 2003 were not available).

The race is tied as the lowest rated of the season in the metered markets. The Jeff Byrd 500 from Bristol drew a 3.9 overnight on March 20.

Final ratings and viewership for the March 27 Auto Club 500 from Fontana are available here.
