A Nielsen-rated network for the very first time, NBA TV averaged over half a million viewers for coverage of the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
NBA TV averaged a 0.34 U.S. rating and 520,000 viewers for coverage of the first round of the NBA Playoffs (seven telecasts).
The network’s final game of the postseason, Thursday’s Magic/Hawks Game 6, drew a 0.34 and 501,000 viewers. The most-viewed game on NBA TV was Grizzlies/Spurs Game 5 last Wednesday night, which drew 835,000 viewers.
For some perspective, Versus averaged 624,000 viewers for first round coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Of course, Versus is in approximately 20 million more homes than NBA TV.
Keep in mind that all games on NBA TV were blacked out in local markets, and that each game aired opposite NBA playoff coverage on TNT.
