Recent sports TV ratings news, including the NFL Draft on NFL Network, the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Versus, and the Lightning on Sun Sports.

  • NFL Draft Most-Viewed on NFL Network: NFL Network averaged 566,000 viewers for its three-day coverage of the NFL Draft, up 1% from last year (560K), and the most-viewed NFL Draft ever on the network.   • Stanley Cup Ratings on Versus: The Bruins’ Game 7 win over the Canadiens earned a 0.6 U.S. rating and 926,000 viewers on Versus Wednesday night. Later in the night, abbreviated coverage of Lightning/Penguins Game 7 drew a 1.0 and 1.512 million. On Thursday, Predators/Canucks Game 1 drew a 0.3 U.S. rating and 484,000 viewers.   • Eight-Year High For Lightning: Wednesday’s aforementioned Lightning/Penguins Game 7 earned a 4.5 rating on Sun Sports in Tampa-St. Petersburg, the highest rating for a Lightning game on the network since 2003. (NHL)

    Would you say the NFLN’s gain is a general increase or a sign that people are tired of the way ESPN covers the draft (Berman, Mel, etc)

      That might be a factor. Of course, ESPN’s coverage still attracts far more viewers.
