It was not a particularly good weekend for the Stanley Cup Finals on NBC and Versus, as games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday each saw declines.
Game 4 of the Canucks/Sharks Western Conference Final earned a 1.3 overnight on NBC Sunday afternoon, down 35% from last year (SJ/CHI G4: 2.0), and down 13% from 2009 (DET/CHI G4: 1.5).
Keep in mind last year’s Sharks/Blackhawks overnight was tied as the highest for a Stanley Cup playoff game since the 2004-05 lockout (excluding the Stanley Cup Final).
On Saturday, Game 4 between the Bruins and Lightning drew a 1.5 overnight, down a tick from last year (PHI/MTL G4: 1.6).
Shifting to Versus, Friday’s Canucks/Sharks Game 3 earned a 0.5 U.S. rating and 714,000 viewers, down 44% in ratings and 55% in viewership from last year (CHI/SJ G3: 0.9, 1.571M).
