The 2011 Gold Cup continues to attract good audiences on the Univision family of networks.
Through 14 matches, coverage of the Gold Cup has averaged 1.617 million viewers on the Univision networks (Univision, Galavision, Telefutura), up 49% from coverage in 2009. Viewership has increased by over 50% among adults 18-34, adults 18-49, men 18-34, and men 18-49.
Sunday’s Mexico/Costa Rica match earned 4.464 million viewers on Univision, despite airing directly opposite the deciding game of the 2011 NBA Finals on ABC.
The match ranked as the #3 program of the night in the previously mentioned adult and male demographics.
In Los Angeles, the match outdrew the NBA Finals among adults 18-34 during the 4:55-7:08 PM PT telecast window.
On Saturday night, Telefutura drew 1.113 million viewers for coverage of the United States/Panama match. In Los Angeles, Miami and Houston, the match was the #1 program of the night during its telecast window.
