Ratings: NBA Finals, Gold Cup, IndyCar


Recent sports TV ratings news, including local ratings for Game 6 of the NBA Finals, increases for the 2011 Gold Cup on the Univision family of networks, and a double-digit rise in overnights for IndyCar’s Firestone Twin 175s on Versus.

  • Cleveland Top Neutral Market For NBA Game 6: Cleveland was the third-highest rated market for Sunday’s Mavericks/Heat NBA Finals Game 6, with a 22.6 rating. Only Miami-Ft. Lauderdale (36.2) and Dallas-Ft. Worth (39.8) scored bigger numbers. Outside of Florida and Texas, other highly rated markets were Chicago (18.8), Memphis (17.8), Oklahoma City (17.7), Columbus, OH (17.0), New Orleans (16.8), Los Angeles (16.6) and Orlando (16.5). In Boston, where the NBA Finals have barely been a blip on the radar, Game 6 drew a healthy 12.8. (Son of the Bronx)
  • Gold Cup Up From 2009: Coverage of the 2011 Gold Cup has averaged a 0.69 U.S. rating and 1.453 million viewers on the Univision family of networks, up 17% in ratings and 28% in viewership from 2009 (0.59, 1.139M).
