Recent sports TV ratings news, including the Texas Rangers on Fox Sports Southwest, the WNBA regular season on ESPN2, and tape-delayed coverage of the British Open on ABC.

  • Rangers Hit Season-High on FS Southwest: Sunday’s Blue Jays/Rangers telecast on Fox Sports Southwest drew a 6.0 rating in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market, the highest rated Rangers telecast of the season on the network. So far this season, Rangers games have averaged a 3.7 rating on FS Southwest, up 23% from the comparable point last year. (Fox Sports)
  • ESPN2 Earns Third-Lowest WNBA Audience of Season: Last Tuesday’s Storm/Dream WNBA regular season game earned a 0.2 U.S. rating and 248,000 viewers on ESPN2, the third-smallest audience of the season on the network (eight telecasts). Only Shock/Fever on June 14 (234K) and Mystics/Dream on June 9 (178K) drew fewer viewers. (Son of the Bronx)
  • ABC’s British Open Coverage Down From ’10: ABC earned a 0.8 final rating and 1.241 million viewers for tape-delayed coverage of the British Open on July 17, down 33% in ratings and 28% in viewership from last year (1.2, 1.732M).
