Recent sports media notes on three football studio shows, including Inside the NFL on Showtime and a pair of new shows on Versus — College Football Talk and NFL Turning Point.

  • Inside the NFL Renewed For Three Seasons: Showtime has signed a multi-year extension with NFL Films to continue televising the weekly Inside the NFL studio show, it was announced earlier this week. According to Variety, the extension is for three additional years. Showtime began televising Inside the NFL in 2008, after the show left original home HBO. • Versus to Air New NFL Show: As part of a collaboration between NFL Films and NBC Sports Group, Versus will televise a new, weekly NFL show starting September 15. Titled NFL Turning Point, the show will highlight two of the previous week’s NFL games — often those involving teams set to appear on Sunday Night Football — focusing in-depth on the “crucial moment” in each game. The show will be the first NFL program in Versus history. (NBC Sports Group/NFL Films press release via Fang’s Bites)
  • Versus to Air New College Football Show, Too: Versus, which is expanding its college football coverage this season, is set to launch a weekly, hour-long college football wrap-up show called College Football Talk. The show will focus on top stories from the weekend, with a “large portion of the show” devoted to the Notre Dame football team. Versus, now a sibling of NBC Sports, will also air new pregame and postgame shows this season. (NBC Sports Group press release via Fang’s Bites)
