A battle of top five teams earned ABC’s largest regular season college football audience since 2009.
Saturday’s #1 Oklahoma/#5 Florida State college football game earned a 5.8 final rating and 9.307 million viewers on ABC, up 23% in ratings and 24% in viewership from last year (TEX/TTU*: 4.7, 7.528M), and up 42% and 40%, respectively, from 2009 (TTU/TEX: 4.1, 6.673M).
Oklahoma’s win ranks as the highest rated, most-viewed regular season college football game on ABC since the 2009 Big 12 Championship Game (TEX/NEB: 7.5, 12.693M).
The game ranked as eleventh-most viewed program of the week on broadcast, the only non-NFL sporting event to make the top 25. Among adults 18-49, the game’s 3.3 rating was good for a tenth-place finish.
