- Rain Drenched ALCS Opener Down a Quarter on FOX: Game 1 of the Tigers/Rangers American League Championship Series earned a 3.9 overnight rating on FOX Saturday night, down 25% from Game 1 of last year’s NLCS on FOX (SF/PHI: 5.2), and down 37% from Game 1 of the 2009 ALCS on FOX (LAA/NYY: 6.2). - Texas/Oklahoma Leads College Football Slate: ABC earned a 4.5 overnight rating for #3 Oklahoma’s blowout win over #11 Texas Saturday, down 30% from the last time the matchup aired nationally in the Noon ET window (2009: 6.4). Last year’s game aired regionally in the 3:30 PM window. Later in the day, regional action including Iowa/Penn State earned a 3.1 overnight, down 9% from last year (MSU/MICH*: 3.4), and down 31% from 2009 (WISC/OSU*: 4.5). Completing the tripleheader, Ohio State/#14 Nebraska earned a 3.7 overnight in primetime, down a tick from last year (FSU/MIA*: 3.8), and up 37% from 2009 (MICH/IOWA: 2.7).
- Big Drop For SEC on CBS: Saturday’s Week 6 college football game between #17 Florida and #1 LSU earned a 3.2 overnight on CBS, down 39% from last year (ALA/SC: 5.2), but up 7% from 2009 (MISS/ALA: 3.0).
