For the third straight week, overnight ratings improved from last year for NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
The Week 10 edition of Sunday Night Football, pitting the Patriots against the Jets, earned a 14.5 overnight rating on NBC — up 2% from Week 10 last year (NE/PIT: 14.2), but down 4% from Week 10 in 2009 (NE/IND: 15.1).
The 14.5 ranks as the fifth-highest NFL overnight on NBC this season (eleven telecasts).
Since Colts/Saints in Week 7 drew a mere 8.2 overnight — down 49% from the comparable game a year earlier — each Sunday night game on NBC has earned at least 14.0 overnight and had an increase from last season.
Boston (36.9) was the top market for Sunday’s game, followed by nearby Providence, RI (31.4). Las Vegas (19.3), San Diego (19.0), Sacramento (17.8) rounded out the top five. New York (17.3) ranked seventh.
