Overnight ratings inched up for Monday’s Chargers/Chiefs game.
The Week 8 edition of Monday Night Football, pitting the Chargers against the Chiefs, earned an 8.7 overnight rating on ESPN — up a tick from last year (HOU/IND: 8.6), and up 2% from 2009 (ATL/NO: 8.5).
This marks just the third time in nine telecasts this season that overnight ratings have increased for Monday Night Football.
Keep in mind three top ten markets — New York (#1), Philadelphia (#4) and Boston (#7) — were not included in the overnight due to inclement weather.
Monday Night Football was the lowest rated NFL telecast of Week 8 in the metered markets, the third straight week ‘MNF‘ has held that dubious distinction.
