Ratings: New York Rangers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Poinsettia Bowl

Recent sports TV ratings notes, including higher ratings for the Rangers on MSG Network, a record for the Thunder in Oklahoma City, and a four-year low for college football’s Poinsettia Bowl.

  • Ratings Still Up For Rangers on MSG Network: So far this season, Rangers games have averaged a 0.85 rating on MSG Network in the New York market, up 16% from the comparable point last year (0.73).   • Thunder Christmas Opener Sets Local Ratings Record: Sunday’s Magic/Thunder NBA regular season game earned a combined 11.5 rating in the Oklahoma City market (8.3 on ESPN, 3.2 on Fox Sports Oklahoma), the highest regular season rating in franchise history.   • Poinsettia Bowl Hits Four-Year Low: The TCU/Louisiana Tech Poinsettia Bowl earned 3.106 million viewers on ESPN Wednesday night, down 13% from last year (SDSU/NAVY: 3.568M) and down 17% from 2009 (UTAH/CAL: 3.736M).
