Week 13 Wrap: Chargers/Jaguars Down Big on ESPN

Thanks to a less-than-tantalizing matchup, Monday Night Football earned less-than-spectacular numbers in Week 13.

The Week 13 Chargers/Jaguars Monday Night Football game earned a 6.1 U.S. rating and 9.5 million viewers on ESPN December 5, down 39% in ratings and 43% in viewership from Week 13 last year (NYJ/NE: 10.0, 16.533M), and down 27% and 30%, respectively, from Week 13 in 2009 (BAL/GB: 8.3, 13.478M).

The game is tied as the lowest rated Monday Night Football telecast of the season, and ranks as the second-least viewed.

Over the last two seasons combined (2009-10 and 2010-11), only one Monday Night Football telecast failed to draw at least ten million viewers. This season, two telecasts have fallen below ten million, and a third — Monday’s Week 14 Rams/Seahawks game — seems likely to finish with fewer than ten million when the final numbers are released.
