Aided by an overtime finish between two strong TV draws, CBS earned the highest NFL Wild Card overnight rating in twenty-four years Sunday.
The Steelers/Broncos AFC Wild Card game earned a 25.9 overnight rating on CBS late Sunday afternoon, up 6% from last year’s comparable game (GB/PHI: 24.4, FOX), and up 19% from the comparable game in 2010 (GB/ARI: 21.8, FOX).
The 25.9 overnight is the highest for any NFL Wild Card game since the 1987-88 season (SEA/HOU: 26.7, NBC).
Steelers/Broncos appears likely to finish as the most-viewed Wild Card game ever. The current record is held by last year’s Packers/Eagles game on FOX (39.274M).
