Viewership increased slightly for the second live English Premier League match on U.S. broadcast television.

Sunday’s Chelsea/Manchester United EPL match earned a 0.8 final rating and 1.377 million viewers on FOX, flat in ratings and up 10% in viewership from the network’s first live EPL telecast two weeks earlier (MANU/ARSENAL: 0.8, 1.258M).

Though up from the first live telecast, Sunday’s match ranks as the second-lowest rated and the second-least viewed of the five EPL telecasts on FOX this season. The network’s three tape delayed matches earlier in the season each earned at least a 1.0 final rating and 1.6 million viewers.

Keep in mind those tape delayed matches aired either before or after NFL coverage on FOX, depending on the market.

as i mentioned in last week’s post about EPL ratings, the network still has around 75% clearance from Fox affiliates around the country, including some major markets that opted for infomercials instead of futbol.
