NASCAR Nationwide Series Sets Cable Viewership Record For Daytona Race


Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona may an afterthought due to the bizarre Daytona 500, but the race earned record numbers on ESPN.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series Drive4COPD 300 earned a 2.9 U.S. rating and 4.433 million viewers on ESPN Saturday, up 38% in ratings and 37% in viewership from last year (2.1, 3.247M, ESPN2), and up 4% in both measures compared to 2010 (2.8, 4.271M, ESPN2).

The telecast ranks as the most-viewed ever for the Nationwide Series on cable television, topping the previous record set by the aforementioned 2010 race.
