TV Ratings: Golf Channel Sets Record (Also, Red Wings and Mavs Hit Multi-Year Highs)

The Golf Channel set a viewership record for final round coverage of the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. In other news, the NHL’s Red Wings and NBA’s Mavericks both hit multi-year ratings highs.

  • Golf Channel Has Most-Viewed Round Ever: Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Pebble Beach National Pro-Am earned 2.337 million viewers on The Golf Channel Sunday afternoon, up 198% from last year, and the most-viewed round of any tournament in the history of the network.   • Red Wings’ Streak Leads to Season-High: Tuesday’s Stars/Red Wings NHL regular season game earned a 6.5 rating on Fox Sports Detroit Plus, the highest Red Wings rating on FS Detroit or FS Detroit Plus since April 2010 (CMB/DET: 6.8). The Red Wings’ victory was the team’s 21st straight at home, an NHL record. (detroitnews.com)
  • Mavericks Earn Highest Local Rating Since 2007: Monday’s Clippers/Mavericks NBA regular season game drew a 4.5 rating on Fox Sports Southwest in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market, the highest for a Mavericks telecast on the network since March 2007 (NY/DAL: 6.2). So far this abbreviated season, Mavericks telecasts have averaged a 2.8 rating on FS Southwest, up 24% from the comparable point of last season. (Fox Sports Southwest)
