Sprint Cup: Overnight Ratings Drop Double-Digits For NASCAR From Vegas

For the third straight week, NASCAR suffered a decline in overnight ratings on FOX.

Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Kobalt Tools 400 from Las Vegas earned a 4.6 overnight rating on FOX, down 13% from last year (5.3), and up 12% from 2010 (4.1).

The 4.6 overnight ranks as the second-lowest for the race since it moved to FOX in 2001.

This marks the third straight week overnight ratings have declined for NASCAR on FOX. The delayed Daytona 500 (7.7) was down 6% from last year, and last week’s Subway Fresh Fit 500 from Phoenix (5.0) was also down 6%.

Despite the decline, the race earned the highest overnight of the weekend for any sporting event.
