Credibility, Out: NBC Taps Seacrest For Primetime Olympic Coverage

The Olympic Games will apparently receive the reality show treatment on NBC this summer.

Reality show host and ‘E!’ anchor Ryan Seacrest will contribute to primetime coverage of the 2012 Olympic Games on NBC, The Washington Post reported Wednesday. The news comes days after The New York Times reported that Seacrest would have a role in the network’s Olympic coverage.

The Washington Post report, based on an interview Seacrest did on the ‘Today Show,’ did not go into any detail about what role Seacrest would play in NBC’s primetime coverage.

Seacrest is not the only non-sports personality to join NBC’s roster this year. As is tradition, Bob Costas will co-anchor the Opening Ceremony with members of the ‘Today Show,’ this year Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer.
