The Women’s NCAA Tournament concluded on a stronger note for ESPN Tuesday night.
The 2012 Women’s NCAA Tournament National Championship Game, won by Baylor in a blowout over Notre Dame, earned a 2.6 overnight rating on ESPN — up 13% from Texas A&M/Notre Dame last year (2.2), and even with Connecticut/Stanford in 2010 (2.6).
Demonstrating the strength of women’s college basketball in Connecticut and Tennessee, Hartford (CT) and Knoxville (TN) were the top markets for the game, scoring ratings of 8.8 and 6.9, respectively.
Austin (6.2), Oklahoma City (5.6) and San Antonio (5.3) rounded out the top five.
