After two years of Seth Meyers, ESPN has tapped a new host for the network’s annual ‘ESPY Awards’ show.

Comedian Rob Riggle will host the 2012 ESPY Awards on ESPN this July, ESPN announced Thursday. Riggle will replace previous host Seth Meyers.

Though less well known than previous hosts such as Samuel L. Jackson and Justin Timberlake, Riggle is a former castmember of ‘Saturday Night Live’ on NBC and ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ on Comedy Central.

Beyond his work as an actor and comedian, Riggle is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
