Sixers Coach Collins to Analyze Olympic Basketball For NBC

Former NBA analyst Doug Collins, currently coaching the Philadelphia 76ers, is heading back to the broadcast booth.

Collins will serve as an analyst for the 2012 London Olympics on NBC, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Saturday.

The assignment will be the first for Collins since he left TNT to return to the coaching ranks in 2010.

A familiar face on television, Collins served as an NBA analyst for Turner Sports from 1989 to 1995, NBC from 1998 to 2001, and Turner Sports again from 2004 to 2010. He has also worked each of the last three Olympic Games for NBC.

Paulsen just please tell me NBC will use the old “NBA on NBC” theme song which was used in the 2008 Olympic games. The music is epic and fits so well with any basketball.

Not sure if NBC will break out ‘Roundball Rock’ again this year.

Easy to pick telecast crew.  Not so easy to narrow this team down to 12.  Obviously, you will have Kobe, Durant, LeBron, Wade, Howard, D-Rose, Melo, Chris Paul, D-Williams, Kevin Love, Andre Iggy, Tyson Chandler, Blake Griffin (?), LaMarcus Alridge (?), Rudy Gay (?), Eric Gordon (?), Danny Granger (?), Chris Bosh (?), Carlos Boozer (?)

LeBron James,Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Derion Williams, Kevin Love, Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony are 100% going.

The rest is tough, You got Russell Westbrook, Tyson Chandler, Blake Griffin, Chris Bosh, LaMarcus Aldridge, Al Jefferson and among others with a possible chance of going.
