FOX was able to avoid another decline in overnights for Sunday’s Goody’s Fast Relief 500, but the numbers tied a ten-year low for the race.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Goody’s Fast Relief 500 from Martinsville earned a 3.9 overnight rating on FOX Sunday, even with last year (3.9), and down 5% from 2009 (4.1). The race was rained out in 2010.
Excluding rained out races, the 3.9 overnight is tied as the lowest for the spring Martinsville race over the past ten years. In addition, the 3.9 is the second-lowest of the season for NASCAR on FOX.
Despite the relatively low numbers, this marks just the second time all season that FOX has been able to avoid a decline in overnights for NASCAR coverage.
The race ranked as the highest rated sporting event of the weekend in the metered markets.
