The final match of the Euro 2012 soccer tournament suffered a slight decline in the overnights compared to 2008.
The Spain/Italy Euro 2012 final drew a 3.0 overnight rating on ESPN Sunday afternoon, down a tick from Spain/Germany on broadcast network ABC in 2008 (3.1).
On a packed sports weekend, the match ranked behind six U.S. Olympic Trials telecasts on NBC and the final round of the AT&T National on CBS.
Keep in mind several markets were omitted from the overnights for Sunday’s match due to severe weather.
According to Sports Business Daily, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale was the top market for Sunday’s match (6.5), followed by New York (5.8) and Los Angeles (4.9).
