Tigers Lead Local MLB Ratings, Rangers Have Biggest Increase


The Detroit Tigers averaged the highest local television rating in Major League Baseball during the first half of the season.

Tigers games averaged an 8.65 rating in Detroit during the first half of the season, up 32% from last year (6.54), up 55% from 2010 (5.57), and the highest local average rating of the 29 U.S. Major League Baseball teams.

The Cincinnati Reds (8.4), defending champion St. Louis Cardinals (8.3), Boston Red Sox (7.4) and Texas Rangers (6.2) round out the top five.

The Rangers in particular had the largest increase of any team during the first half, as the 6.2 average marks an 83% increase over last season.
