In a rare reversal of the typical policy, NBC will televise daytime coverage of the 2012 London Olympics live in all time zones this weekend.

Not since Gabby Douglas was six months old has any Olympics been as big of a ratings draw as the 2012 London Games.

Though it can probably be attributed more to the reach of the NBC broadcast network than to anything else, the USA women’s basketball team pulled in quite the audience Saturday morning.

Darren Rovell has officially rejoined ESPN. In other news, sportswriter Pete Thamel has joined SI, and comedian Frank Caliendo has left FOX.

NBC earned another massive overnight rating for coverage of the 2012 London Olympics Thursday night.

Once again, ratings and viewership rose for daytime and late night coverage of the 2012 London Olympics on NBC.
