FOX to Again Air EPL Matches on NFL Sundays

The English Premier League will return to the FOX broadcast network this season.

Sports Business Journal reported Monday that FOX will air “at least” three English Premier League matches on NFL ‘singleheader’ Sundays this year, starting with tape delayed coverage on September 23.

Other telecasts would air on October 7 and November 4, and FOX reportedly plans to add more as the season progresses.

FOX aired three tape-delayed EPL matches on ‘singleheader’ Sundays last year. Depending on whether viewers received the 1:00 PM (ET) or 4:00 PM NFL game, EPL coverage aired at 2:30 or 4:30 PM.

The network also aired a pair of live, early morning EPL matches that coincided with the NFL Conference Championship games and Super Bowl Sunday.

will you please do an article concerning why 22 million Comcast households are being blacked out of most European soccer matches? Poormans research shows that BeIN sports (a division of Al Jezeera) bought the US rights to broadcast La Liga (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Christiano, Messi), Serie A (Italy), and the French league. Comcast’s customers have been clambering for answers but Comcast has not said a peep publicly on Facebook, twitter, or even their own forums concerning whether or not they are working to add this channel or not. Furthermore, many people are abandoning Comcast because of their lack of communication AND lack of movement on this issue.

Sorry for the lack of response; I’ll see if I can write something up about the issue.
