The broadcast booth will not be as much of a boys’ club as usual on Sunday.

ESPN softball analyst Michele Smith will serve as a guest analyst for Sunday’s Dodgers/Braves Major League Baseball game on TBS, Turner Sports announced earlier this week.

Even if just for a one-time gig, Smith will be one of the very few women in the industry to break into the broadcast booth for a male sporting event.

Among the select few are Doris Burke (an analyst for ESPN NBA and men’s college basketball games) and Beth Mowins (entering her third year as a play-by-play voice on ESPN college football games). Though not on a national level, Suzyn Waldman serves as an analyst for New York Yankees radio broadcasts.

Smith will work alongside play-by-play voice Ernie Johnson, Jr. and analyst John Smoltz for Sunday’s game.
