In a rare reversal of the typical policy, NBC will televise daytime coverage of the 2012 London Olympics live in all time zones this weekend.
Daytime coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics will air live in all time zones on Saturday and Sunday, NBC announced Friday.
The telecasts will feature the gold medal matches in tennis (Serena Williams vs. Maria Sharapova on Saturday and Roger Federer vs. Andy Murray on Sunday) live at 9 AM ET both days (8 AM CT, 7 AM MT and 6 AM PT).
In addition, coverage will include the men’s 10,000m in track & field at 4:15 PM ET Saturday (3:15 CT, 2:15 MT and 1:15 PT), and United States games in men’s volleyball (vs. Russia, 11:45 AM ET Saturday), men’s water polo (vs. Serbia, 2:40 PM ET Saturday), beach volleyball (5 PM ET Saturday), and women’s basketball (vs. China, 11:30 AM Sunday).
NBC had already planned to carry the August 12 men’s basketball gold medal game live in all time zones.
This weekend’s live coverage will not include any of the events slated for primetime.
