The Deutsche Bank Championship attracted the second-best rating ever for the FedEx Cup on Monday.
Final round coverage of the Deutsche Bank Championship, the second event of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup, earned a 3.3 final rating and 4.808 million viewers on NBC Monday afternoon — up 83% in ratings and viewership from last year (1.8, 2.633M), and up 74% and 86%, respectively, from 2010 (1.9, 2.580M).
The telecast ranks as the highest rated and most-viewed FedEx Cup telecast since 2007, when the final round of the same event earned a 3.4 and 4.9 million.
Overall, Monday’s final round earned the second-best numbers ever for a FedEx Cup telecast, trailing only the aforementioned 2007 telecast.
Third round action on Sunday also improved dramatically. NBC’s 2.4 rating soared by 71% compared to last year (1.4) and by 60% compared to 2010 (1.5).
The Deutsche Bank Championship continued a strong start for this year’s FedEx Cup. One week earlier, The Barclays earned its second-highest final round rating since 2004 (excluding rainouts).
