After a decline for manufactured drama last week, NBC attracted strong numbers for the real thing Sunday night.
The Week 3 edition of “Sunday Night Football,” won by the Ravens with a last-second field goal over the Patriots, earned a 14.3 overnight rating on NBC — up 8% from Steelers/Colts last year (13.2), and up 10% from Jets/Dolphins in 2010 (13.0).
The 14.3 overnight is the best for the Week 3 edition of “Sunday Night Football” since Cowboys/Packers in 2008 (14.4).
In addition, the 14.3 marks a 3% increase over Lions/49ers in Week 2 — marking the first time since ’08 that overnights for the Week 3 “SNF” game improved over Week 2.
As is typical, Sunday’s game drew a lower overnight than the NFL national window, which this week aired on CBS (14.9).
