For the fourth time in five years, the women’s final of the U.S. Open has been pushed back a day due to inclement weather.
The Serena Williams/Victoria Azarenka U.S. Open women’s final, originally scheduled for 8 PM ET on CBS, has been delayed to Sunday due the prospect of severe weather.
This marks the fourth time in the past five years (2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012) that the women’s final has been delayed to Sunday.
The start time for Sunday’s match will be determined by Saturday evening.
Unless both men’s semifinals can be completed Saturday afternoon before the bad weather rolls in, the men’s final will air on a Monday for the fifth straight year.
