For the second straight week, college football did poorly on FOX. In other news, the SEC led the way on ESPN yet again, and figure skating’s Skate America competition suffered a decline on NBC.

NBC continues to rack up big increases for Notre Dame coverage this season.

Arguably the game of the week in college football, Saturday’s SEC clash between Florida and South Carolina could not match last year’s comparable game.

Florida may be the most relevant of the Sunshine State college football teams, but Florida State and Miami still attracted the largest overnight rating on Saturday.

With much-hyped rookie Robert Griffin III taking on the New York Giants in half of the country, the NFL singleheader earned strong numbers for FOX Sunday afternoon.

Thanks to terrible numbers last year, NBC had a massive increase in overnight ratings for the latest edition of “Sunday Night Football.”

The Jets/Patriots rivalry attracted the customary large audience Sunday, but still trailed last year’s comparable game.

With the caveat that last year’s game aired on the lowest rated night of the week, Game 6 of the National League Championship Series carved out a slight bump in the overnights.

The NBA league office more than likely rejected ESPN’s bid to hire former Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy.

For all the talk the past few months, it should be pointed out that Fox Sports 1 does not actually exist yet.
