With Notre Dame in the top ten, it should be no surprise that the team has been a much better draw this season than in years past.

Saturday’s Stanford/Notre Dame college football game drew a 3.9 overnight rating on NBC, up 50% from the network’s fourth Notre Dame telecast last year, against USC in primetime (2.6), and up 179% from the fourth telecast in 2010, against Pittsburgh (1.4).

The 3.9 is the second-highest of the season for Notre Dame on NBC, trailing only a 4.0 for Michigan/Notre Dame in primetime last month.

Overnight ratings for the past three Notre Dame games on NBC have increased by 48% (Week 4 against Michigan), 100% (Week 6 against Miami) and 50% (Saturday’s game).

Stanford/Notre Dame earned Saturday’s highest college football overnight, comfortably topping concurrent afternoon games on ABC (3.1) and CBS (2.1).
