A Pac-12 doubleheader put up a weak performance on FOX Saturday.
Saturday’s USC/Washington college football game drew a 1.8 overnight rating on FOX, down 44% from West Virginia/Texas one week earlier (3.2), and down 36% from Texas/Oklahoma State two weeks ago (2.8).
The 1.8 is the third-lowest of the season for primetime college football on FOX, ahead of only Kansas State/Oklahoma in week four (1.7) and Hawaii/USC in week one (1.4).
The low numbers came despite a lack of competition on the other networks. ABC did not air “Saturday Night Football” due to NASCAR commitments, and neither CBS nor NBC televised primetime games.
The numbers were far worse earlier in the day. The Utah/UCLA game drew a mere 0.8 overnight rating on FOX, the lowest of the season for college football on any of the broadcast networks. The game barely topped ESPN’s concurrent “reverse mirror” regional coverage, which in most markets featured Illinois/Michigan (0.7).
