NCAA Week 8: Final Ratings Low For K-State/West Virginia on FOX

For the second straight week, the FOX network failed to attract even a 2.0 rating for primetime college football coverage.

Last Saturday’s Kansas State/West Virginia college football game drew a 1.6 final rating and 2.521 million viewers on FOX, flat in ratings and up 1% percent in viewership from Southern California/Washington the previous week (1.6, 2.508M), and down 45% in both measures compared to West Virginia/Texas two weeks ago (2.9, 4.555M).

The game is tied as the lowest rated primetime college football telecast on FOX since Hawaii/Southern California in week one (1.2, 1.823M).

Head-to-head, FOX was trounced by “Saturday Night Football” on ABC (3.1, 4.843M) and Alabama/Tennessee on ESPN (2.5, 4.223M).

In six head-to-head meetings this season, ABC’s “Saturday Night Football” has topped college football on FOX each time (see chart).

Final ratings/viewership for the afternoon Stanford/California game were not available.
