- News Corp. Acquires 49% Stake in YES Network: News Corporation, the parent company of Fox Sports, announced last week that it has acquired a 49% stake in New York RSN YES Network. Under the deal, News Corp. has the option to acquire a majority stake (80%) in YES Network three years from now. (The New York Times)
- YouTube to Stream NBA D-League Games: The NBA and Google reached an agreement last week to stream NBA Developmental League regular season games on the video sharing website YouTube. The first of 350 games on YouTube this season aired Friday night, with all games available either on NBA.com or on the NBA D-League YouTube channel. (NBA.com)
- NHL Owners Cancel All-Star Game: National Hockey League owners elected Friday to cancel the 2013 NHL All-Star Game and all regular season games through December 14 as part of their ongoing lockout of players. Amazingly, the 2013 All-Star Game will be the third canceled due to an owner-imposed lockout. (Chicago Tribune)
