Though not as big a draw as the Notre Dame/Oklahoma later in the night, the latest chapter of the Florida/Georgia rivalry scored strong numbers on CBS last Saturday.
The Florida/Georgia college football game drew a 4.2 final rating on CBS last Saturday afternoon, up 31% from last year’s game between the teams (3.2), and up 27% from the same matchup in 2010 (3.3).
The 4.2 rating is the highest for the Florida/Georgia rivalry since 2009 (4.4).
In addition, the 4.2 is the second-highest of the season for college football on CBS, behind only a 4.6 for Louisiana State/Florida in week six of the season.
Overall, the 4.2 ranks as the fourth-best of the season for college football on any network — trailing LSU/Florida, Michigan/Alabama on ABC in week one (4.8) and Notre Dame/Oklahoma on ABC Saturday night (5.2).
